Art By Neil
First off, I would like to apologize for not blogging in the past two weeks or so, I have had a wicked cold, I know lame excuse, and it has made my head ridiculously foggy, and thus not in the blog mood, I was even having trouble with Tweets and Facebook status updates. I wanted to be at my best for the few readers I have, because, gosh darn it, you deserve it!This lovely piece of art came from a beer fueled night at The Keyport Lounge, a bar I frequent for it's amazing prices and great service(aka the waitresses love me so I get awesome deals). This bar also has karaoke Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, which is one of the main reasons I go there! Neil, a friend and my husband's cousin, drew this little doodle and it made it's way into my purse. When I pulled it out from my purse the next morning/afternoon, I liked it and it made it's way upon the fridge! Any MST3K fan will notice the Tom Servo and Crow T. Robot and I really enjoy that Garfield isn't complaining about Mondays, just thinking 'Hell?' not quite sure what the bottom guy is all about but I am sure it made since at the time.
I plan to post more frequently, I really need the outlet. I have been restricted from working since August 28th in regards to a back injury, and I feel like a fricken shut in some days, so my window to the world, The Internet, helps!

A Penny For Your Thoughts
This is what my friend, Spud, expected to get in return when she offered a penny for my thoughts!I am an avid Sanrio fan and Hello Kitty is my favorite character. Heck! I even named my cat 'Hello'! Spud worked with me at WDIO-TV, her name was actually, Ashley, and I think she quite possibly fell off the face of the planet after she quit. This is a common occurrence at the T.V. station, a lot of college kids not from the area work there , they quit and I never see them, at least I have strange little things like this to remind me of their existence.

There's A Light...
A ticket for the "Rocky Horror Show" one of my best friends, Danny, was 'Dr. Frank-N-Furter'! It was a blast I went to see it at least five times, I love doing the 'Time Warp'!After the show we made our way to Perkins, as was the fashion before we were the drinking age, I mean where else can you go and be loud after midnight, when you are under 21? That is when this next item was conceived...
Drawn with the crayons for the kid menus, on the back of the ticket! We were, and are such odd folks.

Rockin' Cuties!
This is a picture of Brandon and me at the Quest Club, in the Cities! We were at a Misfits concert, The Damned and Balzac opened for them. Holy crap that was an awesome concert! Oh, and the garland, I just put it up there one holiday season and never seemed to take it down, so of course I had to scan it in with the picture!

DUH?!?!?!
When this came as a warning with my curling iron, I thought, hmmm? After some laughter, I realized that this has to be in there because someone obviously burned the eff out of their eyes with a curling iron and blamed the Revlon company. I am fairly certain that I am not in danger of burning my eyes off with a curling iron...we all know that folks out there exist who are ready to make a buck on losing sight, but not with this warning in the package, no sir! Revlon you are safe for another day, yet, I would recommend keeping your guard up! This has been on my fridge for several years now and usually gets attention when drinking has happened, I guess I find it funnier while intoxicated, yet, I still give a chuckle while sober!

No Brandons Allowed!!!

My younger sister(16 years my junior), Haylie, has been drawing on every piece of paper she could find since she first learned to hold a writing utensil. This was on a bedroom door at my Grandparent's house, I asked my sister why it was there and what did it mean, she staunchly replied "It means no Brandons allowed!!". So Brandon is my husband and when my sister was four-ish he was her sworn enemy, not quite sure why?! Anyhow, I, of course, asked if I could have it, the sign went on the fridge and made me giggle and Brandon grumble. I will be posting many of my sister's works of art because, frankly, she is a genius! Also I don't have children, yet, so her artwork is my version of parental "look-it's-on-the-fridge"ism! Believe me, every time she comes to my apartment she makes sure those picture are still there, sometimes I have to remind her what she said it was or why she said she made it, but, she still wants it to be there. No fear, Haylie Leigh, your artwork is always safe with Big Sis!

IMPPY THE CREEP
Here I Am World. Watch Out!
So, I have decided to join the 'blogosphere' , I thought I am on Facebook and Twitter, why not have a blog? All the cool kids are doing it anyhow! And, with the passing of the great Patrick Swayze, I realized life is short, so I should blog about it! In my blog I will be posting pictures of the things upon my fridge hence the blogspot title. I know this seems weird but, if you have ever seen my fridge you will understand it will keep me blogging for months (at least). I am sure I will blog about big events in my life or if something really pisses me off, as well! Here, I take the plunge, I am posting one of the first items that were magnet-ed upon my fridge (well, actually my first fridge I am on my third but everything has been transfered) I will give you a story to go along with it, you may find humorous, dull or stupid, yet, it shall be the truth...
O.K., this is a political mailing we received soon after(late September, 2003) we moved into our place in Morgan Park(for the folks not from the Northland Morgan Park is a neighborhood in Duluth, MN. It used to be kind of it's own town because of the steel plant owned by J.P. Morgan) By we I mean my boyfriend, Brandon,(now husband) , his cousin, Neil, and me! It was a very basic reminder to vote, and I am a fan of Russ so there he landed on the fridge. Then, tragedy struck not long after election day had come and gone, Brandon decided to throw out the mailing. Well, I went apes**t, it was a bad day, I had just broken my foot and I was living on my own for the first time. So, as I bawled my eyes out, Brandon had to go outside to the garbage can and dig it out. Sidenote: that's when I knew I was going to be with him forever<3 I mean to put up with me like that and not go crazy himself was pretty awesome.
Luckily, the Russ Stover mailing was close to the top and didn't have any gunk on it! Thus, I still have it displayed on there today.
P.S. I use a lot of commas, sorry if it is bothersome, but, I seriously rarely take full pauses in regular conversation!
